Privacy notice · Last updated 8 September 2026
Privacy, simply.
This notice explains what personal data is used on carlosmontenegro.nl, why it is used, and the choices you have.
Who is responsible
Carlos Montenegro, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, is responsible for the processing described here. For privacy questions or requests, email carlos.montenegrovela@gmail.com.
What is collected and why
- Messages: your name, email address and message are used to respond and manage your enquiry. The legal basis is taking steps at your request or Carlos’s legitimate interest in replying. Messages are normally deleted within 12 months after the last meaningful contact, unless an active collaboration or legal obligation requires longer.
- General updates: your email address is used only for the updates you request, based on your consent. It is kept until you unsubscribe or the update service ends. Each promotional update will offer a simple way to unsubscribe.
- Film notifications: your email address and selected production are used to send the requested film update, based on your consent. The active entry is removed within 30 days after that notification is sent, or earlier if you withdraw. A minimal consent or withdrawal record may be kept where needed to demonstrate compliance.
- Technical data: the hosting provider receives information such as IP address, requested page, browser and time of access to deliver and secure the site. Cookie-free, aggregated performance measurements are used to keep the site reliable. The legal basis is legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional website.
Providing form information is voluntary, but without it Carlos may not be able to reply or send the requested update. Please do not send sensitive personal information through the forms.
Services used
Netlify hosts the website, processes form submissions and provides cookie-free performance monitoring. Form information is stored in Netlify’s systems and may also be delivered to Carlos by email. Netlify may process data outside the European Economic Area under the safeguards described in its Data Processing Agreement.
Google also provides the Gmail address used for correspondence. The site loads fonts from Google Fonts, images from ImgBB, and privacy-enhanced video players from YouTube. These providers receive technical request data such as your IP address when their content loads. Their own privacy terms apply. Instagram, Google Drive and FilmFreeway receive data only if you choose to follow those links.
Cookies and browser storage
This site does not use advertising cookies. It stores a language preference on your device and a temporary session value used to avoid repeating an introductory effect. These values are not sent through the site’s forms. You can remove them through your browser settings.
Your rights
Depending on the situation, you may ask to access, correct, delete, restrict or receive your personal data, or object to its use. You can withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. Email the address above; Carlos will normally respond within one month.
If a concern is not resolved, you may complain to the Dutch supervisory authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens.
No selling or automated decisions
Your personal data is not sold. It is not used for automated decision-making or profiling.
